Hi, I'm Mel! I’m a former radio broadcaster who has followed my entrepreneurial dream! (That Grade 12 Enterprise award was a bit of foreshadowing, I guess!) I’m an Indigenous woman (Inuk, Beneficiary of Nunatsiavut) who grew up in Labrador. I spent 17 years as a broadcaster, promotions manager, and brand manager in the radio industry. Before that, I spent a Summer as a geologist after getting my BSc, but the mosquitoes were just too much.

On paper, I started my first business when I was 4 years old making cards and poems for my family. I called that business “MDS Inc.” and my services also included yard sale inventory procurement, mixtape making, and sticker trading. I started honing my negotiating skills at age 9, around the time I got into public speaking competitions at school. Skip ahead a few years and I ended up talking for a living and finding new ways to stretch my creative muscles. I started earnestly with hi, love. greetings in 2012. This endeavour helped me grow my graphic design and brand management skills alongside my work in broadcasting.

I currently live in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia with my dear husband, Goose and our two cats, Kitty and Holly. I’m grateful daily to live with another creative person. Goose (and the kitties!) are an immeasurable help behind-the-scenes.

I’ve worked hard over the years to grow my skills and am now able to offer a variety of products and services for personal and business use. I have found so much joy in combining my imagination, technical skills, and love of storytelling.

I simply love putting ideas in motion. (I have big hair and big ideas!) It all started simply with love and paper and I carry that handmade ethos with me. I love the constant flow of ideas the people in my life encourage. For that, I am forever grateful.
